Anime week

YES! it's anime week for me again.

My friend lent me an anime called D.N Angel.

I've no idea what it means anyway, all i know the anime was popular way back in 2003. It's a story of an ordinary boy who just reaches 14 and has an alter ego calls Dark, and he steals artworks to seal the "spirits" in it. The whole series is quite good, not much of humour than the Clannad series, but there's a good bit of romance in the story plot. But what i really liked about this anime is the music and sound effects used. Alot of classical themes were being used, very suitable for some romantic moments. And i loved the characters, especially the Harada twins. Although, they're twins but their characters differ from others.

now, gotta get back with FYP!

Holiday Madness

Hello again!

I'm sorry that i've been away for quite a while. hehe, this is due to my group's Final Year Project. Me and my group members are so busy preparing for it that i have not been posting regularly here. But i promise once that it's done, i'll do more Daily Night Sketch and 3D Modelling.

But for now, i'm not sure if i had posted this drawing before. i did this about a month ago, but due to assignments, i haven't been really coloring it. So i did abit of colouring in photoshop and Sai, but i'm not going to post it in here yet. It'll be up during New Year's Eve! :D

3d dressing room by Rosanne

no, this isn't Daily 3D Modelling Night. It's just another class work given last week...

This is a still life dressing room done by one of my classmate, Rosanne. I used her still life for my earthquake animation because mine was in a different version. so when i had finally worked on my animation, i was told by my teacher to re-texture some parts of her dressing room because her theme was more to a doll house therefore there wasn't much texture added. So this is my textured version of Rosanne's dressing room. i re-textured the dressing table, the chair, the wallpaper and the floor and the lipstick handle. Anyway, some parts of her model were abit hard to texture because there were less subdivision and the model isn't really smooth, so i had some really minor adjustments to it. :) but overall, i still had loads to improve, especially the animation of the cutex.

Daily 3d Modelling Night #1

Yes, this is definitely something new to look out for now! I realised that i have been posting less and less things on my blog, so this is something new that will keep me going, i hope. XD So other than my Daily Night Sketch posts, I'm also going to post more on Daily 3d Modelling Night as a part of exercise to my 3d modelling skills.

so here's the first post:

Spend around 2 to 3 hours modelling everything in the picture above. Refrence from my own living room; this is much neater and cleaner version of my living room, anyway. hehe. I stopped modelling at 10+pm because i need a rest, so i missed out some small little points, like the door knob on the cupboard, and the button for the tv screen. But i really want to add curtains on the scene. I thought that might look more homely. :D So stay tuned to some changes to my living room scene! :)

Skinny Guy Model

Hi!

I've started modelling again, even though I've been quite busy with my portfolio and visual effects assignment. Spend like maybe one day for modelling, and the next day doing some minor changes to the character. Got the idea while modelling out in maya. :)

But not into rigging yet, i'm just building my 3d modelling basics. But might rig this someday, when i've found some good full body rigging methods.

New semester!

Hi guys!

sorry that i haven't been updating any works in here. It's the second week since school reopen yet there had been so much to do. But i'm keeping up quite well with school works and stuff. I'll try to keep posting my drawings here as regularly. :)

anyway, in class we are supposed to do show reel opening, and we're doing it in After Effects. We're supposed to do some background or logo on our show reel opening. I already had a plan in mind. :D

Hi!

My exam results just came out yesterday! I'm amazed that I've got distinction for the two 3d modules (3d techniques and advanced 3d techniques)! I'm also still happy with achieving A for Advanced 2d animation :D Overall my GPA is still 4.0. I can't believe that i had maintained my GPA for the past one and a half year. XD

There'll be a group meeting for my group's fyp! hope to have some snapshot of our meeting later :)

Daily Night Sketch

I usually loved sketching at night. I don't know why. But i'm always free at nights, so that's probably why my brain thinks better when i draw at night.

And last night i drew a guy. My sister laughed at portrait because she felt he has this annoying "attitude" look on his face. I told her I'm going to introduce this guy to my father as his future son-in-law. XD

New blog header!

Yes, finally the new blog header is up! I've been wanting to change the header for quite a long time, but finally i had an inspiration to do this header! :D

So basically, i took an old drawing from my sketchbook and had it traced out in Flash. Spend like two to three hours to design this piece in Photoshop after that :)

And the background design. I used a variety of different brushes and the glow effects in Photoshop to get the effects i want:

Introducing my hobby into Blogger!

Being in animation, drawing became a hobby that i would do almost every single day. It's like it's already become a part of my life. But there's another hobby that i would do when i get a little bored with the usual routine i have, and it's photography.

It has been my hobby for quite a long time but i don't always do it because firstly,i don't own a really good camera to snap pictures, and secondly, drawing is my number one hobby, and photography is like the second or even the third and i don't usually do it unless i'm seriously bored. The thing is when i'm bored, inspiration usually comes, and that's when sometimes when i get to imagine things better and see things in a different light. Things will become very beautiful and you'll just learn to appreciate it, and you can't resist taking pictures of it. So basically i will take pictures of random things i see, and rarely they mean anything! :)

But it's just a hobby and i would really love to share it here!

Hi everyone!

As promised, i will be updating my works more often now, since it's school holidays. Anyway, i've just logged into my school site and my exam results are not released yet. I'm really anxious to know my results. Hopefully i maintained my grades and gpa points :)

I've gotten abit sidetracked from what i wanted to post about. so, i have been drawing hell alot now and now i'm almost finishing my fourth sketchbook! :) Most of them consist of my collection of human drawings. I'm kind of lousy at human proportions and kept aside one sketchbook specially to improve my human drawings. So these are some of my human drawings. I've improved a little abit, and still got my body proportion wrong at times. and yeah, one of them was an old work which i intended to colour, but in the end decided to improve on the perspective and the character itself. :)

^She's my western superhero. XD Alot of people like to ask me why you like to draw your characters with Afro hair? My answer will always be the same. I like it because it's different from my other characters. Usually characters with Afro hair shows the personality i have. :)

Bored and sleepy!

HI! :D

I couldn't sleep well last night and so woke up very early today. decided to do another 3d modelling work out of boredom. Spent like three or four hours to complete the character and his toilet bowl ;D I really enjoy modelling the toilet bowl seriously! X3 I'm not good at texturing and lighting, but i tried my best! :D

Birthday?!

Officially 19 yesterday! XD

A big thank you for all the birthday wishes from my friends, classmates and friends from overseas! Really apreciate it! I thought that i'm going to spend a quiet birthday this year, but it was full of suprises! :D

just a short update on my Rapunzel film: i was in school for a while yesterday to check on my group members' fyp part. The outlining and colouring of background scene is going quite well. I knew Rosanne and Liza will do well for this part. and, this remind me that I should start tackling my in-between animation for all 26 scenes of the film :3

Trying out Ndynamics in maya 2010

Hi!

Been quite a while since i've updated! :D Yes, i'm on school holiday finally, and it seems i finally had proper holidays. you know what i mean! hehee! ;D

By the way, I tried something new during the holidays, other than drawing, of course. No one taught me this in school because it's not in our syallabus. We're suppose to learn only the basic stuffs in ITE, but i like to add some spice up in my life by trying something new. :D so i decided to learn abit or two about Ncloth in Maya.

Now the strange thing is, probably there's a lot of people who couldn't find ncloth in the newer versions of maya. It's actually in Ndyamic in the menu sets. :D

Hey guys!

sorry that i've been quite busy with 3d rigging assignments in school that i had no time to update my blog! But here's something I've done in between lesson.

There are more drawings that i have done for the past few days, but i really haven't got any time to scan out my works. I know i still have to do it someday because i need to start creating my portfolio when the next term starts. oh yes, did i mention my exam will be held next week? 3D Donald Duck Lip Sync

My final 3d lip sync animation after so many changes :)

But i still have to ask for a second opinion from my 2d animation teacher because my teacher thinks he sees too much of this until he could not spot anymore mistakes :|

Face Rigging and Lip Sync for 3D Donald!

Finally, after days of rigging Donald Duck's face, I've finally manage to do a short portion of the animation by today.

I got the sound clip from Bugs Bunny's 51 1/2 anniversary. It's a part of the assignment, and since i'm doing Donald, it's so easy to rip out Daffy Duck's voice. I'm barely than half way through from animating the lip sync. I will upload it once i'm done with it.

Oh yeah, by the way, this assignment was just rigging our character's face. i really can't wait to do the body rigging next! :D

HIHI! i'm back! :DDD

Sorry that i have been away from blogger for quite a while! been having a busy week in school forthe past few days. I'm supposed to be concentrating on all my assignments yet I've been dragged for presentation for visitors. I'm not complaining. It's a good training for my presentation skills. It's just that my schedule is so pack! @_@

anyway i managed to finished up my 3d assignment. Decided to model out Donald Duck in 3d. i know others have done it before, but it was a good start for me to model out an existing character xD
